Dear Volunteers,
 
Thank-you for coming to make a difference to our earth’s oceans.
 
What to wear:
 Wear sturdy tie on shoes- no sandals, flip flops or crocks. This is NOT a beach- it is large rocks.  
Wear pants not shorts you may be kneeling on rocks.
Dress like an onion so you can peel off the layers as the temperature rises. It can be cold in the morning, hot in the afternoon and windy.

What to bring:
You need to bring a reusable water bottle and a hat, and sunscreen.
Bring your own gloves and a reusable bucket.
Bring a lunch and a snack or you can buy food at the bait shop across from the Nature Center or the hot dog stand nearby at the pier.
Please no children without adult supervision. All children need to have their parent or legal guardian sign their waiver.
Adults we will have  waivers here for you to sign for yourself.

Location:
Come to the Shorebird Park Nature Center, at 160 University Ave. (not behind the Seabreeze market where you would go in Sept.)
There are banners with our logo on the intersection and on the light poles at the entrance to the parking area.
Walk around the restrooms and the construction fence to the building with the tower. 
This is a Green demonstration building made of green materials like straw bales.
We will rotate groups inside so please wait for your time slot and check in before you enter.
What we will do: Inside we will collect your waivers.  Show you a brief presentation on the problems of plastics in the marine environment. Describe how to fill out the data cards Explain what is not recyclable where to put the trash you find.   Provide a safety talk  Directions to where the trash can be found and the location your group will be cleaning.
We will  provide you with  a map of the location, If you do not have your own gloves or a bucket- we can provide bags,  some gloves and each group with  a sharps containers.
